Four MBBS students suspended for ragging in MGMMC

Four MBBS students from a government medical college in Indore were suspended for one month for allegedly subjecting junior students to physical and mental harassment.

Juniors from the 2024 batch reported that they were called to a private flat where they were assaulted, treated indecently, and forced to smoke cigarettes and consume alcohol.

The issue surfaced after several first-year students at the government-run Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College filed a complaint via the University Grants Commission’s (UGC) anti-ragging helpline.

Following the complaint, college officials took disciplinary action on Friday (Nov 21) by suspending the accused seniors for a month.
