Inspiring: 50-Year-Old Bharatpur Doctor Lifts 442kg at World Powerlifting Championship

Dr. Deepak Singh, a 50-year-old government doctor from Bharatpur, Rajasthan, has made international headlines by winning three gold medals at the World Powerlifting Championship held in Sri Lanka in November 2025.

Dr. Singh, who serves as the HOD of the TB department at Raj Bahadur Memorial (RBM) Government Hospital, competed in the 120 kg weight category and lifted a combined total of 442 kg to secure the victory.

His remarkable performance included lifting 150 kg in the squat, 122 kg in the bench press, and 170 kg in the deadlift. Dr. Singh’s achievement is particularly inspiring given his age and demanding profession.

He credits his strength to a strict vegetarian diet rich in milk and desi ghee, explicitly stating he does not use steroids. Having started competitive powerlifting only in 2019, Dr. Singh has previously won gold at state levels and now balances his medical duties with his passion for bodybuilding.
