MP High Court Exposes Flaws in MPMSU Jabalpur MBBS E-Evaluation Software
In a shocking revelation that validates the worst fears of thousands of medical students, a live demonstration in the Madhya Pradesh High Court has exposed severe, system-breaking flaws in the e-evaluation software used by the Jabalpur Medical Science University (MPMSU).
The Live Courtroom Demo
The devastating flaws were laid bare during a hearing before a division bench comprising Justice Vivek Rusia and Justice Pradip Mittal. The judges personally examined a demo of the university’s digital evaluation software and the academic records. They were stunned to find that students who wrote the exact correct answers were awarded zero marks, while incorrect answers were bizarrely awarded marks.
“Same Copy, Different Marks”
The court noted that the e-evaluation system is so deeply flawed that checking the exact same answer sheet multiple times yielded completely different results. In one highlighted instance, a student was given 5 marks upon the first check, which dropped to a definitive zero upon re-evaluation.
The university’s legal counsel attempted to defend the discrepancies by citing a “double valuation” system, but the High Court swiftly rejected this argument.
The ₹50 Rushed Checking Problem
The proceedings also shed light on the human element of the crisis. It was revealed that evaluators are paid a mere ₹50 per OMR sheet. The court noted that this low compensation likely leads to highly rushed and negligent checking by the examiners, directly jeopardizing the careers of MBBS students and those in allied courses.
Court Mandates Digital Pens
Calling the situation a severe threat to the future of the students, the High Court bench has ordered the university to immediately overhaul its evaluation system. The court has mandated the use of “digital pens” for marking, ensuring that every right or wrong tick is clearly visible and the basis for every single mark can be digitally tracked. The university has been ordered to present a detailed, satisfactory response by the next hearing
