Ragging in Uttarakhand: 2 MBBS Students Suspended, 4 Fined at Almora Medical College

A strict disciplinary action has been taken by the administration of Soban Singh Jeena Government Institute of Medical Sciences (SSJGIMSR), Almora, following a confirmed case of ragging on campus. The incident occurred on the night of January 28, 2026, when a group of second-year MBBS students summoned their juniors (first-year students) to their hostel rooms.

The Incident: According to the complaint filed by the junior students, they were subjected to mental harassment and intimidation.
