A first-year MBBS student from Kozhikode Government Medical College, identified as U. Amritha from Mannarkkad, Palakkad, was traced to Thane, Maharashtra, after being reported missing from her hostel on June 14, 2026. Exam Stress Emerges as Key Factor

Classmates reportedly told investigators that the student had been experiencing significant stress related to upcoming examinations. Following coordination between Kozhikode Medical College Police, Railway Police, and Thane Police, the student was safely located and is expected to return home with relatives.
