17 MBBS students suspended in SMS Medical College, Jaipur amid ragging allegations.
The move was initiated after a first-year student lodged a complaint via the National Medical Commission (NMC) portal.
According to the complaint, some second-year students who live in rented accommodation in Anandpuri Colony were continuously troubling the new students. It is alleged they demanded names, intimidated, made them perform ‘murgas’ (a ragging exercise), pressured them into singing songs, among other actions.

On receiving the complaint, the college’s Anti-Ragging Committee treated the matter seriously and in the preliminary inquiry found the involvement of 17 students. Consequently, all these students have been barred from attending classes and have been suspended until further order And Parents of the suspended students have been called to the college.
