First year MBBS student found dead in hostel room in meerut (U.P.)
A 19-year-old first-year MBBS student was found dead in his hostel room at Subharti University in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The police suspect the student died by suicide, as he was discovered hanging in his room.
The incident occurred around 12:30 PM on Saturday November 29. His friends knocked on his door and, receiving no response, alerted the hostel administration and police.
The student had recently moved into the hostel on November 20. He has been identified as the son of a Uttar Pradesh Police inspector currently posted in Muzaffarnagar.
Police have seized the student’s mobile phone and other belongings for analysis. A forensic team inspected the room, and the body was sent for a post-mortem examination.
Police investigations revealed a suicide note mentioning distress over a chronic skin condition (“Not feeling good in this body“). He had reportedly sought treatment at AIIMS Delhi previously.
While preliminary investigations point to suicide, the exact reason behind the drastic step is currently unknown.
