Another Medico Lost: 27-Year-Old Dermatology Resident Dies by Suicide in Beed

The medical fraternity in Maharashtra is mourning yet another heartbreaking loss today. Dr. Mandar Dabhade, a 27-year-old postgraduate student pursuing his residency in dermatology at the Swami Ramanand Teerth Rural Government Medical College and Hospital (SRTRGMC) in Ambajogai, Beed, tragically died by suicide in his rented accommodation.

The Tragic Discovery

The incident came to light on Monday morning when Dr. Dabhade failed to respond to repeated phone calls from his peers. When his room in the Rohidasnagar area remained locked from the inside for an extended period, his concerned colleagues and neighbors immediately alerted the Ambajogai city police. Authorities arrived at the scene and had to break down the door to enter the room, where he was reportedly found to have died by hanging.

Police Investigation Underway

The local police immediately secured the scene, conducted a panchnama, and transferred the body to the SRTRGMC hospital for a formal post-mortem examination. They have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) as per standard protocol.

While the exact motive remains unconfirmed pending the final investigation, police officials stated they are thoroughly examining all potential angles. The primary focus of the inquiry is severe work-related stress and extreme academic pressure – which has become a massive, systemic crisis for resident doctors across Maharashtra – as well as any potential personal challenges.
