Healthcare Crisis in Himachal: IGMC Doctors on Mass Leave Today; Threaten Indefinite Strike from Tomorrow

Doctors across Himachal Pradesh are currently on “Mass Casual Leave” today. The standoff has intensified after a meeting with the administration failed to yield an immediate revocation of Dr. Raghav Narula’s termination.

The Resident Doctors Association (RDA) has officially warned that if the termination order is not withdrawn by tonight, they will launch an indefinite strike starting tomorrow, December 27, at 9:30 AM.

If this happens, all routine services (OPD/OTs) will be completely shut down across the state’s government medical colleges.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has stated there is “no place for threats” and that the doctor was terminated based on a fair inquiry finding him guilty of assault.
