Lucknow: Mob Attacks Medical Students in PGI Area; One Critical, Two Injure
A violent mob of approximately one dozen youths attacked three medical students late at night.
The incident occurred on the night of December 7, 2025. The students were returning to their hostel around 11:30 PM.
Incident occurred Near the Dental Hospital in Utrathia, within the PGI Kotwali police station area, Lucknow.
The victims are students of a private medical college located in Mohanlalganj. They have been identified as:
- Shrey Gautam (Critically injured)
- Akash Tiwari
- Abhay Jaiswal
The students were returning to their hostel when they got into a verbal argument with a group of local youths. The argument escalated, and the group armed with sticks and iron rods brutally assaulted the students.

Shrey Gautam suffered severe head injuries and fell unconscious at the scene. Due to his critical condition, he was referred to Medanta Hospital.
The other two students, Akash and Abhay, also sustained head injuries and were admitted to the Trauma Center.
The police reached the spot upon receiving information and transported the injured to the hospital. A case has been registered, and authorities are scanning CCTV footage from the area to identify and arrest the accused.
