NTA Announces New Date for NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam: June 21 Confirmed

After days of intense anxiety and nationwide protests, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the new schedule for the cancelled NEET-UG 2026 examination. Medical aspirants across the country now have a concrete timeline to restart their preparations.

The New Exam Schedule

According to the official notification released by the NTA on X (formerly Twitter) earlier today, the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination will be conducted on Sunday, June 21, 2026. The agency confirmed that this decision was finalized with the direct approval of the Government of India.

The Ministry of Education stepped in to expedite the scheduling process, ensuring that the delay in the entrance test does not severely derail the academic calendar for the incoming 2026-27 MBBS batch.

Important Guidelines for Candidates

The NTA has urged students and parents to rely strictly on official channels for updates and warned against social media rumors. While full logistical details are still rolling out, previous protocols suggest the following for the massive cohort of impacted students:

No Fresh Registration Needed: Candidates will likely not need to re-apply. The applications submitted for the cancelled May 3 exam remain valid.

New Admit Cards: The old admit cards are officially void. The NTA will issue a fresh set of admit cards, complete with new examination center allocations, closer to the June 21 exam date.

Meanwhile, the CBI’s nationwide investigation into the massive paper leak syndicate – which has already led to the arrests of a BAMS student in Nashik and an MBBS student in Nalanda – is aggressively continuing.
