Rohtak MBBS Exam Scam: UHSR Expels 20 Students After Fresh Hearings
The massive MBBS examination scam that rocked Pt BD Sharma University of Health Sciences (UHSR) in Rohtak has seen a major new development.
On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, the university administration officially re-expelled 20 MBBS students from an affiliated private medical college following a fresh round of personal hearings. These hearings were conducted under the direct orders of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, after the students challenged their initial February expulsions, citing a violation of the principles of natural justice and demanding an effective opportunity to defend themselves.
A Multi-Lakh Cash-for-Marks racket
The exam manipulation scandal originally surfaced in January 2025, exposing a deep-rooted nexus where university staff allegedly charged between ₹3 lakh and ₹5 lakh per subject. In exchange, students were allowed to illegally tamper with their answer sheets to clear their examinations. Vice-Chancellor Prof. HK Aggarwal issued speaking orders confirming that after supplying all required documents – including handwriting expert reports and Board of Discipline recommendations – and conducting individual hearings, the involvement of the 20 students was established beyond doubt. Consequently, the students have been declared ineligible for any academic benefits, and the results of all their tainted examinations have been completely canceled.

Next Steps and Ongoing Legal Action
While these 20 students face severe academic penalties, university sources claim that the legal process is currently underway to take similar action against three other MBBS students previously linked to the same scam. Furthermore, UHSR has already initiated criminal proceedings, filed FIRs, and taken strict departmental disciplinary action against the university officials and employees who facilitated the multi-lakh racket, signaling a zero-tolerance policy towards academic corruption.
