Woman Doctor molested, Abused and Vehicle Damaged During Road Rage Clash in South City-II Gurgaon

A female doctor was allegedly harassed, abused, threatened, and molested by two men in Gurgaon’s South City-II area on June 10, 2026 raising fresh concerns about the safety of women healthcare professionals outside the workplace. According to police, the doctor and her husband were travelling near Shishpal Vihar when two youths in a Delhi-registered vehicle allegedly blocked their car after a dispute linked to overtaking on a turn. Witness accounts cited in the complaint state that the men allegedly behaved in an objectionable manner, physically harassed the doctor, verbally abused her, and became aggressive when she threatened to contact the police. The accused also allegedly damaged the windshield of her vehicle before fleeing the scene after issuing threats.

FIR Filed Under Multiple BNS Sections

Following the incident, the doctor approached the police and an FIR was registered under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) , including sections related to sexual harassment, assault or criminal force against a woman with intent to outrage modesty, criminal intimidation, insulting the modesty of a woman, and mischief causing damage. Police subsequently identified and arrested one accused, Paras Thakaran, a resident of Gurgaon’s Sector 47, on June 10. Authorities stated that efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend the second accused. Investigators indicated that what began as a road-rage confrontation allegedly escalated into criminal acts targeting a woman.

Beyond Hospital Walls: A Wider Safety Question

Violence and intimidation against doctors are often discussed within hospitals and emergency departments. This case highlights a broader reality: healthcare professionals, particularly women doctors, face safety risks beyond clinical settings as well. While the accused’s guilt will ultimately be determined through due legal process, the incident underscores the need for swift investigation, accountability, and stronger deterrence against gender-based violence and intimidation.
